Foresters Alaska Cruise raises £14,000 for Children's Miracle

Members have fun supporting
children's health
Almost 400 Foresters members from across the UK and
North America set sail for Alaska recently as part of a
fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network. Foresters began the
fundraiser in 2008, raising £14,000 for the children's charity with
proceeds from cruise ticket sales.
From May 21-28, this adventure cruise took travellers
from Seattle to Icy Strait Point, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau,
Ketchikan, Alaska and Victoria, BC. It was an exciting chance for
members to support a good cause while having fun.
"I am thrilled that Foresters members from all over the UK and
North America were able to come together in support of Children's
Miracle Network," said Bernard Bloom, Foresters International
Fraternal President. "This fundraiser continues our celebration of
Foresters 20-year partnership with Children's Miracle Network and
our ongoing commitment to children's health."
Foresters Alaska cruise marks the latest event to honour
Foresters 20-year partnership with Children's Miracle
Network.
"Since 1990, Foresters has made it possible to raise £256,000
million for 170 children's hospitals responsible for treating
millions of sick and injured children," said Scott Burt, President
and CEO, Children's Miracle Network. "This £14,000 donation will
make it possible for even more children to get the specialised
healthcare they deserve."
Foresters recently renewed its commitment to underwrite the costs
of Children's Miracle Network's Radiothon programme, providing
over £4 million over the next four years to ensure that all
pounds raised as part of this fundraising programme will remain
with local hospitals. In addition to this generous financial
support, Foresters volunteers will continue to commit countless
hours to their local children's hospitals.
