The Bedfordshire Steam & Country
Fayreis held in the picturesque setting
of Old Warden Park, home of the world famous Shuttleworth
Collection, housed in its own museum. The much-photographed
Victorian country house, built by the Shuttleworth family in the
late 1870's, provides a magnificent backdrop for the
event.
Attracting over 15,000 visitors each year, the Fayre has working demonstrations taking place
wherever you may care to roam on the 400-acre site. Other
attractions include: Heavy
Horses, Fairground Organs,
Working Crafts, Motor Show
Off-Road Driving, Vintage Vehicles, Morris Dancing Aerobatic Displays, Trade
& Market Stalls, Working Dog
Demonstrations
& Old-Time Fairground
attractions.
For a complete day out, why not visit
the Beer Garden and listen to the band, or watch the stage
show. Stay into Saturday evening and end your day by
marvelling at the magnificent line-up of showmen's engines
generating the fairground rides and attractions.
Members of the Branch will be at the show selling event programmes
to visitors, so if you are able to spare a few hours we would be
grateful for your support.
Funds raised at this event will be split
amongst various local charities, one of which is Elisabeth Curtis
Riding for the Disabled Charity, our nominated Branch charity for
the year.
