Foresters' Campers Brave the Wintry Weather

Despite the wind, rain and snow 12 units
managed to make their way to Barleylands for the Easter Camping
Rally, hosted by Everglade Branch. Because of the poor
weather conditions there were no field games and we were unable to
have our usual gathering
s in the marquee,
but Barleylands is a large centre and has an education room which
they were happy to hire out to us. This meant that the
Saturday evening fish and chip supper and quiz went ahead after all
and our intrepid campers had a good time and were able to catch up
and chat with friends. We even managed to have an Easter Egg
Hunt on Sunday morning although the eggs which were dropped into
the odd fire buckets the night before weren't easily spotted!
The committee hope that the weekend was an enjoyable one in spite
of the weather, and look forward to August when we will be at
Barleylands again, this time enjoying the sunshine.
Family Outing to Dickens World – 27 April 2008
Over 30 adults and children joined us for a
very enjoyable day out to Dicken’s World in Chatham, Kent.
The shows were fantastic and the layout and atmosphere really did
take us back in time.
We regret that we could not accommodate a few
late-comers as the coach we hired was full. However, as luck
would have it, we were sent a larger coach and they could have
joined us. Please book as early as possible in future. This
gives us the opportunity to hire a suitable coach. It would
be a waste of funds if we hired a large coach and only half filled
it.

Finally .... A Bit of Amusement.
