Murder Mystery Evening - 31 October 2009
The Murder Mystery Evening took place at the George Washington
Hotel, Tyne & Wear and was a new venture for branch Hadrian, as
we were joining in with an event already ran by the hotel. 32
Hadrian members and guests made approximately a third of the people
present for this Halloween event. A fun evening was had by all, as
we all tried to decide which of the characters, that the comedy of
Murders acting group played had done the foul deed? Unfortunately,
none of our party followed the clues correctly to the murderer.
The hotel very kindly allowed the branch to run a charity raffle
among all of the guests present; in aid of our chosen charity for
2009 the Cullercoats branch of the RNLI. A grand total of £118.00
was raised.

Lifeboat Visit - 13 September
2009
Members attended a visit to
the Cullercoats Lifeboat station, Cullercoats Bay
Tynemouth on 13 September. Those who did turnout found the
visit very interesting and rewarding. Those who thought that the
drizzly weather in Newcastle was off putting missed a great morning
at the coast with bright sunshine. Which funnily enough seems
to follow Hadrian branch activities on many occasions. Members were
given a tour of the station and the lifeboat and also met the
current crew and listened to stories of past
successes and tragedy’s.
We was also shown a practice launch
of the lifeboat and training session which as you can see from the
below photos was in its own way spectacular.
