Welcome to Members of Heathrow.
Congratulations to our three scholarship
recipients, Maria Potter, Prince Ansah and John Panda-Noah.
We wish them well with their studies and chosen careers and look
forward to hearing of their progress.
Adrian Buckland and I, together with 878 other
people, completed the sponsored London Bridges Walk in aid of CRY,
walking over seven bridges and passing twelve of London’s well
known landmarks from Victoria Embankment Gardens to Hayes Galleria
at London Bridge. One landmark for every young apparently ‘fit
and healthy’ person that dies of undiagnosed heart conditions every
week.
The conditions on the day were ideal and no
one had any problems finishing the walk, but it was nice to be
greeted at the finishing line with a drink and a chocolate bar,
together with our certificate. Our thanks to all the
volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly.
I am pleased to say that our Branch outings
have been well supported so far this year and bookings are coming
in for the rest of the events the committee has arranged.
I look forward to meeting you at one of
them.
