Fylde Student is 'Quids in' with Foresters Scholarship
Award
We are very happy to
announce that local Fylde student, Emma Lund, has won a prestigious
scholarship from the Foresters. Emma secured herself a £500 a year
financial package, renewable for up to 4 years, to support her
studies when she leaves for university in September.
The 18-year-old student from
Thornton-Cleveleys received her award this month from the
local branch of Foresters Branch, Hospitality. Emma says: "I
am very excited to receive a scholarship from Foresters. I have
enrolled at Edgehill University in Ormskirk to study Sports
Development and I will put the money towards my coursework.
In the future, I want to work in community sports development
encouraging children to join sports activities and community
sports. Foresters do so much for the local community, and
that's why I am even more excited to be sponsored by them."
Hospitality Branch
President, Keith Taylor, was delighted to hand over the scholarship
award and comments: "Emma is the fourth young person in
our area to receive a Foresters sponsorship, and we are proud to
support young people with their further education."
Another Fylde school rides off into the Summer with free
bicycle!
For the fourth year running,
local Fylde schools are enjoying a sporty treat from local
Foresters Branch, Hospitality. Branch Hospitality has been a keen
supporter helping local schools raise funds for future school
activities and equipment at their Summer and Winter Fayres and have
once again sponsored a bicycle: this time for Stanley Primary
School in Blackpool.
Acting Headteacher of Stanley Primary School,
Mrs Jane Murphy, is very grateful for the generous support of
the local Foresters Branch: "It is fantastic working with the
Foresters. They really do care about the community and put a lot of
effort into supporting local schools. The bicycle raffle
raised over £200. We are really grateful to have them on board and
look forward to working with them in the years to come."
Hospitality Branch President, Keith Taylor,
proud of their contribution to the local children and their
families comments: "We are committed to support local communities
and charities and we are especially proud to have built such a
fantastic connection with many local schools. Not only do we
help to raise money to support the school, but we also help to make
a child's dream come true. We hear such heart-warming about the
children and their families winning the bicycle - it makes all our
efforts so worthwhile."
