Fun Day in the Park - Friends of Kirkham Parks
Forester
Hospitality Branch really pulled out a finger at this fundraising
event to raise money for a park regeneration in Kirkham. Some of
our Branch members are very active in this charitable cause and
asked for Branch support to strengthen their efforts.
Not only did we run an Airbrush Tattooing
stall, but also donated the top prize – a brand new children’s
bicycle - for what turned out to be a very popular raffle draw!
Kristin and Mark Richardson supported the event on the day
together with the help of friends.
The Airbrush Tattoos were extremely popular with all children
and the designs came out wonderful being multi-coloured and full of
sparkling highlights and despite the weather being rather poor, the
event attracted several hundred of people.
We helped to raise over £500 for the Friends of Kirkham Parks
who are presenting their regeneration plan for the local Memorial
Park on December 3rd 2009 in Kirkham.
“It was such a great event to help out at! The
children were so excited about all the play opportunities with a
bouncy castle, games and airbrush tattoo being available to them.
The lucky winner of the bicycle was a young girl who never had her
own bike before and that is just lovely to see how the Foresters
can make such a difference in people’s lives with a rather small
effort.

Cartmel Races 2009 - 2 August 2009
A coach filled with 25 race enthusiasts as well as novices,
young and older, enjoyed a fantastic outing at Cartmel Races this
year. The weather was on our side and we set up during late
morning, enjoying a picnic & drink prior to the spectacle.
Meeting and mingling with new and old Foresters was a real
pleasure and sharing the momentum of the eventful races has given
all of us truly lasting memories. So much so, every one wants to
come back next year for more!
During a coach raffle on the way to the races we raised £40 for
the Northwest Air Ambulance! A big thank you to all who contributed
and to Marjorie & Keith for organizing great prizes!

“It was a great day out! The weather was on our side, the
Forester group was in great spirits and the races were an exciting
and very different experience for all of us. I particularly enjoyed
the picnic sharing a drink, a bite to eat and a good laugh.” (Mark
Richardson)
G-Casino Experience - 2 October 2009
20
members and their friends came along to The G-Casino on 2nd October
2009, for a night of great food, wine and gaming fun.
The Casino Experience came inclusive of a great 3-course-meal,
gaming tuition and vouchers which were greatly received as we
headed off for the tables & slot machines hoping to apply the
tricks we had just been shown. We had a great night, especially
since most of us came home with more money than they left the house
with!
During a table raffle we raised £65 for the Northwest Air
Ambulance! A big thank you to all who contributed!
“It was a fantastic evening. We all enjoyed the personal gaming
tuition by a Casino professional and loved the challenge of making
the most of our chips! ” (Kristin Richardson, Branch Member)
Strike Lane Primary School Summer Fayre - 4 July 2009
On Saturday 4th July Forester Hospitality Branch
supported the local school in their fundraising activities on the
day. We put on Airbrush Tattooing for the children as well as the
Stocks game where they all had a go at throwing wet sponges at each
other and their teachers. Marjorie and Keith Taylor as well as
Kristin and Mark Richardson manned the stall for the afternoon.
The Airbrush Tattoos were extremely popular with all children
and the designs came out wonderful being multi-coloured and full of
sparkling highlights and helped to raise £80 for the school.
The Stocks game was able to raise a further £40.
“It was a really nice
time spent at Strike Lane Primary School. It is great to see the
children so enthusiastic about what we do and it’s nice to have a
chat with other Foresters and parents and not to forget out
Financial Adviser Mark Richardson who is always supporting and
helping to organize our events. Knowing that we are doing a great
deed by raising money for the school makes it all just so
worthwhile.”
