Branch News

Branch Meetings

Branch meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from January to November (no meeting in August ) at

Chandlers Ford Community Centre

Hursley Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 2FT

Meetings start at 7.45 p.m.  When the meeting is finished we always make sure there is time for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat before we make our way home.  There is certainly no obligation to get involved, so why not come along and meet us.

The December meeting is usually followed by a Christmas Dinner, which this year is being held at Woolston Masonic Hall, Manor Road South, Woolston.  You can find details of menu choices elsewhere in this newsletter.

All members are welcome to attend.

Dont forget your fellow Foresters are not strangers, just friends you haven't met yet!

Alaska Trip

AlaskaAlong with many Foresters from the USA and Canada, myself and Doreen went on the Foresters Alaskan cruise in May and visited the ports of Ketichan, Skagway, and Juno before our last port of call at Victoria.

All this as well as sailing through ice bergs, meeting the huskies and having a dog sleigh ride (some of the other Foresters managed a trip up in a helicopter, and whale watching). There was so much to do if you chose to or just chilling  out by the pool.  We even managed a few extra days in Seattle at the end of the cruise just enjoying this magnificent city.

This was a very enjoyable holiday, and we both wished it had been much longer.  We did manage to escape the volcanic ash and the BA strikes thankfully.

Roll on 2012 when once again the Foresters are hoping to put on another cruise starting from New York visiting Boston, New England, Chicago and Quebec in the fall.   Watch this space for more information.
