Your Regional Council
Daniel Ward at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood
Brian Daniel, who was the Charity Chairman of Court Golden
Willow for many years and then Laurel Branch, raised over £120,000
between 1981 and 1997 for Mount Vernon Hospital. Brian always had
the support of his wife Phyl and all the family and although as
Committee Chairman Brian was at the forefront, his family was there
behind him. Their efforts were recognised in that they had a ward
in a new medical block named after them in 1996. That was
even more poignant following Brian’s sudden and tragic death in
1997. As far as we are aware they are the only Forester family to
have this honour. A plaque was also placed at the entrance to
the ward to commemorate their efforts. Whilst it has come to
our attention that the ward is soon to be closed for
modernisation, it is hoped the plaque will be presented to Brian's
widow, Phyl; our memories of a tireless Charity Chairman who was a
credit to Foresters will live on forever.
ACTIV8!
ACTIV8! is our
programme of exciting opportunities for 18-30 year old Foresters
members (or children of Foresters policy holders).
The group get together throughout the year to help make a
difference to a community group or project, or to enjoy new and
challenging events and experiences.
