Regional Skittles Match
Sunday March 21st, saw the first round of the
qualifiers for the Regional Skittles Competition which
Mayflower Branch hosted for the first time for some years. We had
the skittle alley at the Begbrook Social Club, Frenchay and played
a three way match against Gwent an St.David branches entailing each
team playing two games.
Mayflower emerged victorious, and unbeaten, to take us into the
final at Clarence House, Portishead on Saturday 5th June.
After the games we adjourned to the Parkway Tavern, Stoke
Gifford where 22 bodies partook of an excellent carvery lunch and
everyone had a thoroughly good day. We even raised £38 by way of a
raffle for the Great Western Air Ambulance.
Grateful thanks to Alvin Forrester for organising such an
enjoyable event.
My thanks go to Ian Tanner for an excellent report, Lionel
Vearncombe, editor.

The Branch Charity this year is The Great Western Air Ambulance.
Thsi was voted on by the members at a recent Branch Meeting. At a
recent charity collection held at the Tesco store in Horfield, £905
was raised over two days. This is the best start we have had for a
long time.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Stephanie Fry who is a member of
