Christmas Party Dance
Over 80 Foresters members and friends enjoyed
a wonderful start to their Christmas celebrations by sharing a
fabulous buffet in the attractive hall at Churchdown Community
Centre.
The live band, “The Good Ol’ Boys” had
everyone up on their feet and an enormous raffle raised a fantastic
£141.00 for Winstons’ Wish.
“A very enjoyable family evening with a
welcoming atmosphere”, said John Leech, Charity Chairman, “everyone
from 8 to 80 had lots of fun – one of the best events we’ve had for
a long while.”
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Over 447 members, their
families and grandchildren came together for a wonderful evening at
Cineworld in Cheltenham to view the exclusive premiere of the newly
released Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix at our member
involvement evening on Friday 13th July 2007.
A magician entertained the children and the
goody bags and competitions went down a storm!
Everyone thanked us for a wonderful evening
and contributed to the charity collection boxes on their way out -
everyone was smiling and kids clutched their goody bags and talked
about the film as they left.
Winston’s Wish, for whom the collection was
made, was delighted with the £300 collected, and commented on how
good it was to see so many children and adults alike having a great
time.
