Southport on 21 September. The raffle during lunch raised

Family Lunch - 11 May 2008
Over forty members of New Harmony and their guests enjoyed a
family Sunday lunch held at The Park Hotel in Liverpool on the
11th May. £165.00 was raised during lunch for our
Branch Charity Fund.
Help for Marie Curie Hospice
Over fifty members of New Harmony and their guests enjoyed a
Family Sunday Lunch held at The Park Hotel on the 24th
February and were able to help one of their
charities.
The highlight of the event was the
presentation of a special tie-down for wheel chairs to Marie Curie
Hospice by Branch President, John Shelbourne. This equipment
will ensure the safety of the wheelchair passengers who are
transported in the minibus to and from the Hospice Day centre and
make it a lot less stressful for the drivers and carers to fit the
chairs in the bus.
On the day New Harmony raised almost another
£200 for the Branch charities for 2008.
John Shelbourne said, ‘The Liverpool
hospice is one of 10 Marie Curie Hospices offering specialist care
for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses and we are
pleased we could help them’.
Dinner Dance Weekend
Everyone attending our weekend away and dinner
dance in November at the Manhattan Hotel, Blackpool had a fantastic
time. Over 30 people attended the event and we raised over
£160 for our Branch charities for 2008.
