Presentation Gourmet Lunch
106 members and friends sat down to Pinewood
Shore's Presentation Gourmet Lunch on Sunday 20 December 2009 at
the Bay View Court Hotel, Bournemouth. The meal was excellent as
usual, and Doug Harris, Branch President, welcomed everybody,
followed by a few words from the Regional Vice Presdient, Martin
Coward.
A cheque for £3,373 was presented to Julia Meech and
Emma Dent from Tender Loving Care by Margaret Taylor our Charity
Co-ordinator for 2008/2009, and Ann Williams who has organised all
the raffles (see photograph).
Margaret stated that we had raised £9,373 in the two years that
Tender Loving Care had been the Branch charity.
Dorothy Head, our Skittles organiser presented a cup
to the member with the highest score for the year who was Cyril
Luckett our Past President (see photograph). Angela Flint was
highest scoring lady one point ahead of Ann Williams, and a small
cup was presented to the lowest scorer of the year!
Cyril and Joan Luckett will be our Charity Co-ordinators for
2010 when the Branch charity will be the Dorset and Somerset Air
Ambulance. Cyril asked for help for a collection at ASDA on 22nd
and 23rd January and announced 'The Forties Show' at Southbourne on
9th April 2010.
Vice President and Social Chairman, Joyce Bing announced an
afternoon and evening event on 6th March and the 50th Anniversary
Dinner Dance on 15th May.
Doug Harris thanked Joyce for organising the event, as well as
thanking the Officers and other members for their assistance during
2009.
