July Charity Events for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance
Raise £1,268.14
The Teddy Bear
Stall in Bournemouth Gardens, manned for three days at the
beginning of July, made a profit of just under £300, which was not
so great, but at the collection at Tesco, Castle Lane,
we achieved a most successful £487.65.
On 18th July, Pinewood Shore Branch
held a most successful Charity Sunday Lunch at Ferndown Guide
Hall. Many thanks to Joan Luckett and Joyce Bing, and their
many helpers, who gave the 80 people present an excellent
three-course meal. It was followed by music and singing by a
Country & Western Group, “Neon Moon”, and, together with the
raffle, the profit for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is
£482.18.
50th Anniversary Dinner Dance
On Saturday 15
May 2010, Foresters Pinewood Shore Branch celebrated their
50th Anniversary by holding a Dinner Dance at the Hotel
Royale in Gervis Road, Bournemouth.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Bournemouth and
the Mayor’s Consort, Councillor Mrs. Beryl Baxter & Mr William
Baxter, joined the 100 Foresters to enjoy a very special
evening.
Also present was the Western England &
Wales Regional President, Mike Edge and a number of officers from
the Regional Council and other Branches. All the ladies were
presented with a ‘Golden Anniversary’ rose bush as a memory of this
special 50th Anniversary.
The raffle raised nearly
£300.00 towards Pinewood Shore’s 2010 charity,
Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
