Cream Tea at Tiny Tim’s Tearoom
and visit to ‘The Canterbury Tales’
We all met
up at Tiny Tim’s on the 4th April 2009 where we enjoyed a
cream tea, after which some of the party visited the ‘Ghost
Room’. One person reported that they felt ‘something’ brush
past their leg! Other’s said the room felt quite cold compared to
the rest of the building! I can say I found something I was
not expecting! On the wall opposite the door, plans were
displayed of the restoration work that had been carried out after
the fire in 1985, and there it was for all to see!! In a
small frame hung a photo of Les Ashby, a member of the branch who
had worked on the building doing the carpentry restoration that was
required to the ‘paneled room’ which is now know as the ‘Ghost
Room’, Les was with us and he was quite surprised to see his photo
displayed, as this was the first time he had been back to the
building since 1985. The visit to The Canterbury Tales followed,
which was not only enjoyable but educational as
well.
