Welcome fellow Foresters.
We welcome all Foresters to our web-site.
We had a very successful year in 2009, with
the Murder Mystery evening and the Carol Service / Dinner Dance
rounding off our programme of events most enjoyably.
The Carol Service and Dinner Dance had to be
changed to a Sunday in 2009, this unfortunately meant that
about thirty of our usual attendees had a prior engagement at
Linden Lea’s Tea Dance. We really did miss them all, but the fifty
members who did attend said it was the usual good start to our
Christmas festivities.
I hope we can arrange a suitable date this
year and have the old gang together again. We really need
members to come forward to help run Sarum Branch. If you are
interested please contact me. (see branch contacts below)
We are all getting old and although we would
still like to carry on we do need some help, it is only one evening
a month for approx, two hours [obviously there are occasionally
extra items] Someone to be treasurer would be welcomed with open
arms!!!! All our fund raising means that we will be able to present
a cheque to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance for £4,000.00 at our
Presentation evening in March.
We would love to welcome you on that date at
Hamptworth Golf and Country Club for our Presentation Dinner,
followed by Dancing to “ Second Time “.
Our charity amount was down by about £3,500.00
in 2009 as we didn’t have the AEP Golf day, but my son Mark assures
me it will be held again this year, so any golfers out there. JUST
WATCH THIS SPACE.
We have a wide variety of events, but if you
have a special hobby or interest let us know and we may be able to
put on an activity to suit you.
As I have said before, we love to see our
regular members at Sarum’s events, but if it is your first visit
you will receive an especially warm welcome.
Bill and I didn’t have a very good 2009 health
wise, and I know a lot of our Forester friends were in the same
position, so we would once again wish you all a very Happy –
Prosperous - but most of all a HEALTHY year in 2010.
