Christmas Shopping - 14 December 2009
We may have only
seen grey skies and rain on our way to Barnstaple, but it cleared
up once we arrived, just in time for lunch. If you are in
need of some retail therapy then Barnstaple is the answer. It
combines high fashion and big city brands with local specialists,
art and crafts, plus of course the local pannier market. I
think we all did very well on the shopping front as the bus was
loaded on the way back.
It was just a shame that Eric and Gladys were unable to come
with us, but at least Eric saved his money! Thank you
to everyone who gave raffle prizes and we made £65 for Cornwall Air
Ambulance.
Christmas Lunch - 6 December 2009
It appeared that the
meal was enjoyed by those attending at this new venue. We were
really pleased to welcome the new Members who came and joined
us.
We do hope that they will come to another of our events
soon. Thank you to all the Members who donated such a
wonderful array of prizes for the raffle. The money raised was
a magnificent £194 and will be donated to the Cornwall Air
Ambulance.
Coach Trip to llfracombe - 13 September 2009
The journey was so picturesque. I loved the coffee
break at Buckfast Abbey, where it was so peaceful and serene.
In Ilfracombe in the glorious sunshine, it was
lovely to look across the water and see Wales so clearly. In
fact, a wonderful day out was had by all.
