Successes
Christmas Dinner Dance
On 21 November we
enjoyed our Christmas Dinner Dance at the Ramada Hotel in
Norwich. The event was well attended by 74 members and
guests, attracting several previously inactive members.
Pleasant surrounding, a first class meal, attentive service, great
duo who treated us to a mix of vocals and smooth dance music,
together with a grand tombola raising over £200 for Quidenham and
RNLI all combined to make a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
During the course of the evening President Ann
Gallagher presented a cheque for £1,080 to Danielle Clarke from
Quidenham Children’s Hospice (see photo). Councillor John
Gallagher accepted on behalf of Foresters Benevolent Fund a cheque
for £150.
Horse Race Evening
This event took place on 25
October 2008 at Hellesdon Community Centre. An evening of fun
with the opportunity to greet previously inactive members. And, of
course, the chance to make your fortune on the gee gee’s, sadly
nobody left in a Roll’s but we all enjoyed our supper of
fish/chicken and chips plus a naughty, but nice, pastry kindly
donated by ASDA.
Oh ... and I almost forgot the great
excitement and resultant sore throats as people cheered on their
favourite horse! Plus banter between the compere and horse
owners in a game of ‘Play Your Cards Right’ as they attempted to
boost their winnings!
A really successful evening raising over £600
to be split equally between Quidenham Children’s Hospice and
RNLI. Many thanks to everyone who came and joined in.
