Outing to Beaulieu - Sunday 18 July 2010
This was a Free event but a booking fee of £4
went to our charity “The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air
Ambulance”
50 members and their families enjoyed a great
day out, after a damp start the sun came out and then shone on us
all day long.
April Tombola Stall
We had our usual tombola stall for our chosen charity, which as
you know this year is the Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance.
The weather was brilliant on the Saturday but cold and breezy on
the Sunday - but we still managed to raise approximately £440.00 so
a big thank you to everyone that helped!
If you fancy giving us a hand, we'd love to see you,
just contact Reg on 01983 299334.
Scholarship Success
This
is not the usual sort of success that appears on this page. But we
feel it definitely deserves a mention this summers Tamzyn
Swallow graduated from University with a First Class Honors Degree
in Maths.
Tamzyn has worked really hard for her degree, and we feel that
in some small way we in the Foresters have helped her in achieving
it.
Tamzyn applied for and was successful in receiving a Foresters
Scholarship Grant. If you have a child about to go to University
they could be entitled as well.
Fundraising Throughout the Summer
Our small band of
volunteers manned charity stalls at Brading Day, the two days of
the Chale Show, the following weekend at the LA Bowl fun day and
then on the August Bank Holiday weekend with a stall at St Helens
Carnival.
New forlast year, a stalwart few manned the charity stall on
Christmas Eve at the LA Bowl. This helped ensure that we more than
reached our target.
We presented the cheque at our February meeting.
Jean and Bill carver are the brains and brawn behind our charity
stalls, but like us they need help. Do you have a few hours to
spare to help us at an island based charity? If so please get in
touch.
